BYD is winning Europe, but owners aren't shy about these 3 problems (Part 2) ⚠️

Alright, so in Part 1 we talked about why Europeans are buying BYD.

Now let's get real. Here's what owners complain about – loud and clear.

---

1. Waiting months for delivery – the biggest frustration

Reddit is full of "ordered my Atto 3 in January, still no delivery date".

One user said: "The dealer keeps pushing it back. I'm at 5 months now and they can't even give me a week."

This is hurting BYD's reputation faster than any quality issue. People hate uncertainty more than bad news.

---

2. "Why is it so much cheaper in China?" – the pricing drama

When Europeans discovered the Dolphin costs €23k here but only €11k in China… the internet exploded.

Comments like: "Love the car, hate being ripped off."

Another: "At this price, I'd rather get a VW ID.3."

BYD defends it with tariffs, logistics, and localisation costs. But for a regular buyer? It just feels unfair.

The irony: Some analysts argue that pricing too low would hurt the premium image. But right now, the gap is big enough to create resentment.

3. Driving feel – not quite there yet

Car magazines and enthusiast forums are harsher.

CAR Magazine on the Atto 3: "Plenty of tech, but not much fun. Steering feels vague."

Owners say the suspension is too soft for fast corners. The car leans. It doesn't give you confidence at high speeds.

One German driver: "It's comfortable on the Autobahn straight line. But throw it into a curve and you feel the body roll. Not what I expect from a modern EV."

---

Bonus: The Italian ad controversy

BYD ran an ad in Italy encouraging owners to swap old Stellantis cars for up to €10k discount. They pointed out a known design flaw in Stellantis engines – and got banned.

Result? The ban just made more  people google the flaw. Classic Streisand effect.

So where does that leave BYD?

Great value, honest range, cool tech – but slow delivery, pricing anger, and so-so dynamics.

Would I buy one? Depends how much patience you have. The product is legit. The execution? Still a work in progress.
